Remove Radio, Dash Trim

Remove the radio in a chevy cobalt.  Remove the dash trim.

I do not have all the info in this, but I know from experience that you have to remove the trim first.

In order to do this, you just pull on the plastic pieces.
1.) Start with the dash trim piece on the passenger side between the glove box and the airbag.  Open the glove box and yank on it till it pops off.

2.) Next work the right side free on the piece next to the driver steering wheel seen in the picture above with the 2 buttons.  You could pop it off, but I have always just worked it free on the side and snuck the larger piece and its tab out from behind it.

You can also see in that picture the gold clips you are pulling to release.

3.) Finally pull on the middle plastic trim piece.  It has a gold clip in each corner.  Might be ones in the middle sides also, don't recall.  You will know once you get some part of it free how much more pulling you need to do.

All this pulling will not be easy.  Don't use a screw driver it will damage the plastic.  Dash trim removal kits exist made of plastic or whatever to make it easier to get leverage and pop these things off.

Re-Installation is just push them back in/on.

You will notice the middle piece has a tab on the top back, you need to slide that back behind the left side and since you have the passenger side off entirely it doesn't matter on that side.
