Change Air Filter, Remove Air Box






AIR BOX REMOVAL:

The air filter is located in the left side box.  There are a few clasps holding the top down.  To open it to change the filter you can remove the metal ring holding the plastic tube but that would be extra work you can just lift the top off.

There is an air filter inside the glove box as well.  That is an AC cabin filter.

How to remove the airbox?

Easy! 2 nuts and a special T50 type of screw hold the box assembly down to the frame of the car.

Step 1.)
Socket wrench with 10mm socket

1a.) Remove the 2 nuts on the back of the air box.  Located on the backside of the box is a straight line of sight easy to remove they are facing upwards.

1b.) When putting the box back, put the cover on it because it won't go on when the lower part is installed.  Due to the top right 2 plastic slide in retainer things.

Step 2.)
Socket wrentch extension (socket won't fit) with A T50 Hex screw bit (star looking screw driver bit).  Located behind the headlight attached to the frame is a downward screw put hand in and turn, the screw is held in place on the box arm once lose.

2a.) Remove the single hex screw on the lower plastic arm part of the airbox, located behind the head light.
