Lights & Bulbs

05 Chevy Cobalt Lights & Bulbs (Pontiac G5, Pursuit likely have similar bulbs)

The following is the light numbers for replacement bulbs.  At the bottom it says for a 2007 cobalt but all are the same.

These are projector beam lights require a ballast to work which requires wiring them.

Replacement bulbs for the 05-10 Cobalt from Sylvania and other manufacturers with their respective part numbers are as follows: combo low / high beam #9007, front turn signal (parking) #3157, and front side marker #194

The tools needed to replace any headlight bulbs include a 10mm socket with ratcheting wrench, panel fastener removal tool, needle nose pliers, and a small flathead screwdriver.  In my experience just a 10mm socket and small flathead screwdriver can do it.  Remove one of the panel clips and once the 2 bolts are removed that are holding the light down just lift the black plastic bumper in the middle (where you removed the retainer from) some and push the light assembly inwards on the inner side while turning the light outwards on the outside.  If you don't lift the middle panel piece it seems to be stuck and difficult to remove.  Disconnect the single wire plug to free the light assembly from the car.  Install is reverse.  (disconnect negative battery cable if you want)

The next picture is of the light assembly bracket that the headlight slips into, sits on, is screwed into bolted onto.  Be careful not to twist your light assembly to much or yank it upwards because you can break the 2 T shape things under it.  If you do that it will rattle, and if you take some of the base of the light with the T shape thing the light will take on moister since there would be an open hole on the bottom.  (I know I did this)
