Mini Fridge Review - Alpicool MG9

So you decided to add a mini fridge.

This is an Alpicool MG9

12 volt and 9 quart size (small). Draws about 30 watts.

The riser on floor is an 18qt Hefty plastic storage container from Home Depot.

The MG - 9 comes with a wall outlet plug and a 12v cigarette lighter plug port cable. Both are sort of short can reach the front seat to a power station basically with some good slack, but going to rear seat be about half way into back seat in length.

This is in the Cobalt.

The 12v wall plug is white with a power pack where it has the plug into wall. The cigarette port cable is black. Both plug into the side by the passenger car door. The plug coming out of the cooler has a little bulky plug housing about the size of half your thumb. It also plugs in opposite to front facing so have to wrap plug around which is fine so it ejects the cable down the side to the rear facing the glove box.

Nice fridge gets it to 36 degrees not just a chiller like some that are not fridges. Can put 9 cans but I had about 6 sodas in or 3 and a little soda bottle plus another can on top so 4 or 5 cans not sure exactly the best fit with other things and that many cans, but actually it is more cans I had meat packs in it before for sandwiches but as shown in new pictures here you can get 9 cans in says Amazon. So depends what your cooling.

It comes with about a 7 page manual easy to read and understand. There are only 3 buttons on the fridge with an up and down arrow and power is all. So there are some unique button combinations to change Celsius to Fahrenheit. Etc... hold both 3 seconds.

The top of this is in the trunk.

The water is likely from using a ice cooler water on floor rising up.

2 cans are under the sideways can. It won't fit 3 in a row that is why the other can is in the middle.

That's it another can on left and in middle and then the top tier on right. Maybe another fits in top left corner but I think it is more than 9 doing the math here. 2 on each side inside 2 on top of that plus 1 in middle, plus 1 more sideways on top of middle can. Be top tier shelf with another 2 or 3. Be 10 or 11 cans?

1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

∆ WARNING!

• Once unpacked and before turning on, the appliance must be placed on a level surface for more than 6 hours.

• Make sure that the appliance stays horizontally when it is running. The tilt angle must be less than 5° for long time running and be less than 45° for short time running.

• Keep vents clear of obstruction.

• Do not drain upside down.

• Keep away from fire.

4. FUNCTION AND OPERATION

LED DISPLAY

ON/OFF

TEMPERATURE CONTROL (Up and Down buttons)

• Power Supply: connect to DC 12V/24V or AC 120V (USA), AC 200-240V (except US) power supply by using a dedicated adapter.

• Display Screen Initialization: connect to the power supply, the display will be on for one second then enter the normal operating mode.

• Power ON/OFF: press the right power button to switch ON/OFF.

• Temperature Setting: press up button to increase temperature, and press down button to decrease temperature; keep pressing up or down to adjust the temperature quickly. The setting will be saved automatically after stopping operating for 3 seconds.

Temperature Setting range: -20~20°C (-4~68°F).

• Cooling Mode: under the running state, press up and power, then press up or down again to switch HH (fast cooling mode) or ECO (energy saving mode). (*Factory setting is HH.)

• Battery Protection Mode: under the running state, press down and power to make the screen flashed, then press up or down to select three battery protection modes H3(High), H2(Medium) and H1(Low). (*Factory setting is H3.)

* The voltage is theoretical value, there may be a deviation in different scenarios.

*H3 should be set when the product is connected to car power, and H2 or H1 should be set when it is connected to a portable battery or other back-up battery.

• Temperature Unit Setting: switch OFF the fridge, long press up or down at the same time for 3 seconds until displays E1, and switch to E5 by pressing power, then press up or down to switch Celsius or Fahrenheit (*Factory setting is Celsius).

• Reset: switch OFF the fridge, long press up or down at the same time for three seconds, it will display E1, under E1 mode, long press up or down at the same time again for three seconds until the screen flashes which means it has been reset.

• Food Storage Guideline:

Drinks - 5°C/41°F

Juice - 8~10°C/46~50°F

Fruits - 5~8°C/41~46°F

Vegetables - 3~10°C/37~50°F

Prepared foods - 4°C/39°F

Wine - 13°C/55°F

Ice cream - -10°C/14°F

Seafood - -3°C/26°F

Meat/Frozen food - -18°C/0°F

*Food should be placed in sealed containers or packaging before refrigeration.

5. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

∆ Cleaning:

• Switch off and unplug the device first to avoid electric shock.

• Use wet cloth to clean the device and dry it.

• Do not soak the fridge in water and do not wash it directly.

• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents during cleaning as these can damage the device.

∆ Storage:

If the device will not be in use for a long time, please follow the instructions:

• Switch off and unplug the device.

• Take out all the items stored in the device.

• Wipe off excess water with a soft rag.

• Put the fridge in a cool and dry place.

• Leave the lid slightly open to prevent odors from forming.

∆ Defrosting:

Humidity can form frost in the interior of the cooling device or on the evaporator.

This reduces the cooling capacity. Defrost the device in good time to avoid this

• Switch off and unplug the device first to avoid electric shock.

• Take out all the items stored inside.

• Keep the lid open.

• Wipe off the defrosted water.

∆ Never use hard or pointed tools to remove ice or to loosen objects which have frozen in place.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING

Issues: Cause/Suggestions:

Fridge does not work. Check fuse. Switch on/off the fridge frequently may cause start delay of the compressor.

Code F1 display. Possible cause: low voltage to fridge. Please check the power supply.

Code F2 display. Possible cause: condenser fan is overloaded. Disconnect power to fridge for 5 minutes & re-start.
