2005 Chevy Cobalt Side Mirror Replacement
This is a easy install you just pop off the black dome shaped plastic cover on the inside of the door opposite the mirror it has the same metal clasps that the dash trim has, so just need to yank on it and it will pop off. Has a metal retainer type of clasp top and bottom see pictures it is like the dash trim clasps you can just yank on it or use a trim removal tool to slide behind it and pop it loose.
Under the cover are 3 bolts and nuts to unscrew you turn the 3 nuts off and it is free.

The way the mirror adjusts is with 3 metal wires, seems no way to fix it if it stops responding so that you can't move your mirror. I don't know mine stop moving in directions I wanted.
These black caps are removed by hand for shipping they're covering the bolts.
The 3 nuts to unscrew and location of the top metal clip.
I never took a picture of this it is from 2005-2010 ebay sale.
apparently has a second metal clasp on the bottom.
Don't see where that is plugging into the frame of the car
in the picture above of my door on a 2005 cobalt.
