REVIEW OF RADIO HERE: Boss Elite BV755B
> The volume dial is just slightly smaller than I'd like for a volume dial. The cobalt's radio dial was very large and easy to spin. This volume dial has a little resistance in it kind of not really but you don't have to fight it and its kind of tiny like you are trying to pick up a piece of rice for how odd it seems just missed it being able to rest your arm on the arm rest and put a single finger on the volume but instead you have to "turn it" basically but not much of a complaint really. More of a preference. Overall it's not the volume dial you want to be turning with 1 finger due to its size cause you'd seemingly be flicking it and fall off is what it is like. No accuracy involved. Between the size of a dime and nickel more so like a dime and the Cobalt's was a quarter or larger.
> The time display takes up a majority of the screen when its off while driving. Weird but OK.
> Navigating the radio stations is easy with your preset stations being displayed to quickly tap on and there are at least 2 pages of presets to set so that page 1 has about 7 stations shown at the bottom of the page and the one being heard is in the middle of the screen, and the presets shows the actual station numbers along with "rock" or whatever the station is transmitting itself as "easy listening."
> I have played CD's but when I drove around testing if a DVD would play I think the DVD was wobbling around in the radio (at a certain point it didn't sound good being played like that if it was wobbling around or reading not sure which yet but wasn't happy to hear that) or that is the sound of it reading the disc, I didn't do any testing while driving vs sitting noise vs bumpy road yet or a different DVD. Maybe putting all the dash cover trim back on will help to reduce noise? It wasn't silent.
> A small square red light in the upper right corner always remains on. When it's on.
> The blue light in the left "mode" button always remains on. When it's on.
> You can push the mode button and get a screen with large squares to click on quickly to use USB or CD or Radio, etc...
> There are a handful of "back ground" pictures to select from for the menus. In radio mode I think it is always black screen.
> You can connect a phone via "Blue Tooth" and send and answer phone calls. The volume is low for the person you are talking to due to the mic pick up in it. You can set it to auto connect, or you can pair it as you want, and can push a slider button to turn off blue tooth pretty quick in a options menu. Has a phone book not sure it is working properly said I had a call but then didn't have a typical listing of numbers to call I was expecting would be there, yet it seems it is, I don't know yet. When a call comes in there is a large square that says call or you can press hang up easy with a large square also if you are on a call. Easy phone navigation and use, except the phone book so far.
> The DVD screen video quality is not so much good quality I guess but it works. Maybe you would want to hang your phone over the radio screen instead to watch something. Send the audio through AUX cable from your phone maybe to the front behind a door on the left where a USB port is also.
> I found navigating a CD to work fine but also is odd with no track list or easy way to navigate from track 10 back to 5 you need to go next next next (even though a track listing is shown you either need to select a song to begin with - I think - or it is then scroll up and down the track list) but it seems you can jump from 10 to 5 because how the display is listing everything. Very odd so far maybe I'm not doing it right somehow.
> There is a track repeat option to replay a song.
> Has an EQ so you can adjust all the frequency settings for more bass, more treble and like 7 other settings, including isolate the individual speakers or just and front, it is set to a sliding scale also so you can set it to be something like halfway to the front speakers also. Easy EQ quick access also to change your tones up, may have preset options also. Helpful for checking if each speaker is working as well.
> You can set it to be at a certain volume (and or track I think) when you start the car or radio. So either tell it to remember last volume or on restart be at a specific volume or no volume at all.
> Overall for the price it is fine so far too bad volume is low for the person you call who can also hear the engine and road noise somehow. If it wasn't for the odd CD navigation not be anything wrong here really except maybe the DVD wobble if that is not disc reading noise. Which some discs can have moments of fast loading I guess, not sure yet. I would buy an entirely different radio that still does all of the things this Boss does but this is fine. Could be worse so kind of exceeding expectations when only paying under $100. Unit has been around a while was up to $150 at some point a commenter said they paid for it but now it is down to only $79.99 on Amazon. Might be more around the net. You can buy direct also from bossaudio.com.
> I haven't plugged in a reverse camera yet. If that's your objective in having a radio like this likely buy a large radio that entirely fills the space without a dash kit.
